Les Misérables is based on Victor Hugo's landmark five-part novel about social change and political revolution in 19th century France. Boublil and Schonbers' musical is a powerful examination of justice, change and redemption.
Les Misérables has indisputably become one of the world's most popular musicals, having been seen by over 50 million people worldwide, in 38 countries and translated into 21 languages. It tells the enthralling story of broken dreams unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption – a timeless testament to the survival of the human spirit. The magnificent score of the Les Misérables includes the songs “I Dreamed a Dream,” “On My Own,” “Bring Him Home,” “One Day More” and many more. SMHS’ passionate student ensemble can’t wait to share this epic story with you.
