Charlie Baker, a big-hearted but painfully shy Englishman, escapes from his disappointing life to a small inn in a remote part of Georgia, pretending he speaks no English in order to avoid interacting with the natives, But what happens when Charlie has to communicate in order to warn the good folks of Tilghman County of a dastardly plot by the local Klan? And what of the pretty young woman for whom he has started to develop feelings? Charlie’s plan to undo the consequences of his lie unfolds in hilarious fashion, turning a chump into a champion in this award-winning comedy.
Directed by Brad Friedman.
