From
February 3rd to February 12th 2006, we returned to the New York of
the turn of the (20th!) century and said: HELLO DOLLY!, the Jerry
Herman mega musical and all time favorite. Presented at the San Mateo Performing
Arts Center.

One of San
Mateo High School's performances of Hello Dolly! was attended by a team
of judges from American Musical Theatre of San Jose for adjudication and
consideration for one or more of their prestigious HONORS Program awards.
The top Bay Area high school performers and productions are honored at
a special awards ceremony in May. In addition to Hello Dolly!
earning the top award for Best Production
among the 27 shows judged, Nick Balian received the award for Best
Supporting Actor, and Morgan Mallory received a nomination for
Best Actress. Certificates were presented to the following actors
in recognition of their outstanding performances:

Another
of the Company's performances was attended
by the inimitable Merv Griffin, who earlier that day was the
Guest of Honor at a special presentation during which he donated
a most generous sum to his Alma Mater, earmarking half of it
specifically to the school's Performing Arts.
Merv was
given the microphone before the evening performance of Hello
Dolly, and he ad-libbed his way into the hearts of all.
