Join the Drama Boosters
We hope you’ll join the San Mateo High School Drama Boosters and help support our wonderful drama program.
Your financial support will help us fund our shows this year. Our program is almost completely self-funded, so every donation—large or small—is important. You’ll receive benefits, too—a discount on all of the tickets you purchase to SMHS drama performances ($2 off for students and seniors, $3 off for adults).
As a booster, you’ll receive advance notice of all of our shows and social events. You can also hear about opportunities to lend your skills (carpentry, sewing, tickets, sales, etc.) to our productions. You don’t need to have a student in the cast or on the crew—all with an interest in the drama program are welcome!
Fill out the Booster Membership form and mail it in with your support check.

eScrip
If you don't already know about eScrip, it is a great way to donate money to the Boosters without taking a penny out of your pocket! All you need to do is go to www.escrip.com, create an account and register your Safeway card, Macy's card and other major credit cards (e.g., VISA, MasterCard, American Express). During the registration process, you will be asked to select a group to support. You can search for San Mateo High School Drama Boosters by name or by our Group Number, given above. You can also search by city or zip code.
If you are already a member and are supporting another group through eScrip, you can add the Drama Boosters and your donations will be split among the groups you choose. You can also delete or change group designations. Just go to My eScrip on the toolbar, enter your chosen password, click on "change my group selection" and follow the easy instructions.
Every time you shop at Safeway, or at any of the Merchant Stores named in the attached eScrip Merchant List for Northern California using a registered credit card, eScrip will automatically pay San Mateo High School Drama Boosters a percentage of your purchase. You are charged nothing for this service. The amounts of the donations vary by merchant and are specified on the attached list. Also, eScrip has an online Mall that includes hundreds of additional merchants, many of whom you probably already make online purchases from. If you shop through the eScrip online Mall, or at any of the merchants listed in eScrip's online Mall, using a credit card registered with eScrip, the merchant will also give a donation to the Drama Boosters. Again, donations vary by merchant, but all are listed at the eScrip website. Among the merchants in the eScrip's online Mall are Expedia, Travelocity, Apple and Dell Computers, Target, HSN, Land's End, Eddie Bauer, Circuit City, Office Max, Best Buy, Buy.com, Shutterfly, Sephora, Barnes and Noble, Petco and ToysRUs - and that is just a handful of the stores listed. Please note, you can only get donations from these merchants for online purchases using a credit card registered with eScrip. In-store purchase qualify only at the stores listed in the attached local Merchant List, and again, only if you use a credit card registered with eScrip. If you own a business, consider registering your business' credit card used to make online purchases at Office Max, Dell Computers, or at any of the other listed eScrip online merchants. You have nothing to lose!
You can check your monthly donations to eScrip by logging onto to your account anytime. To give you an idea of what eScrip can bring to the Boosters, I checked my account for the monthly donations from eScrip last year (when I designated my group as SMHS PTO). For the month of November 2005, my donations came to $475.55, for December 2005, $507.84; my other monthly totals average around $175 per month! That means, without lifting a finger and without taking any money out of my pocket, I donated about $2,732.00 last year to the SMHS PTO!!!! Can you imagine how it would benefit us if all of the Boosters signed up for eScrip and designated San Mateo High School Drama Boosters and their supported group?!!! It would literally solve all of the Boosters' ongoing money problems! Just think about this: We have around 60 Boosters. If each of those Booster's annual eScrip donations to the Drama Boosters came to $500 (that's around $41 per month), we'd make $30,000!!! Wow!
Please take the time to look at eScrip website, sign up, register your Safeway, Macy's and other major credit cards in time for the holidays! And please shop the stores at the eScrip Mall for your online purchases!
